Alas Turned to Stone
£50.00
Part of my ‘Perseus’ series. This design is inspired by the painting of the same name by Edward Burne-Jones, part of his ‘Perseus Cycle’. In response to an insult from Atlas, Perseus turns the titan to stone with Medusa’s decapitated head. The way Perseus appears to ‘float’ in the painting from 1882 reminded me of the 1980s video game Space Harrier from my childhood. The piece recalls 1980s Miami Deco designs with its neon & pastels, and its shaped border.
Giclee print with archival pigment inks on 280gsm Innova Soft White Cotton paper.
